Family Cruise

I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas and New Year! Over the Christmas break, we went on the most incredible vacation I have ever been on. I had never been away over the holidays before so I was a little bummed that we were going to be gone. I love the feeling of Christmas morning and was thrilled to see Jade open gifts this year but we had the opportunity to go on a cruise and that, of course, is not something you pass up! We packed our bags and headed off to Puerto Rico.

Our flight was at 6:00am. Yep, 6:00am!! We had to get up at 2:00am since the limo was picking us up at 3:00am. We did our best to keep Jade asleep but of course, anyone that has a toddler knows that moving a sleeping toddler from the bed to the car is like moving a ticking time bomb. She was such a good girl and ran around the airport burning off all that energy that must have been stored somewhere in that tiny body of hers. On the plane she was fantastic she fell asleep as soon as we took off and slept almost the whole way. I, on the other hand, running on two hours of sleep did not sleep on the plane because I had a 30lb toddler sleeping across me. At one point she was laying on my arm and I had to accept my fate that I might not ever regain feeling in my arm again.

Once in Puerto Rico we boarded the ship and went straight for the food, I was so hungry. I was absolutely blown away by the food. There was every type of food and dessert you could think of and it all tasted incredible. I ate so much during the trip it was truly unbelievable how incredible the food was and that was just the buffet! We had scheduled dinners in the dining room which blew me away. I had no idea what to expect going on the cruise since I had not been on one since I was 3 so I just imagined that it would be similar to the crappy resort food I’ve had in the past, boy was I wrong.

We went from Purto Rico to St. Maarten, St. Kits&Nevis, Antigua, St. Lucia, and then Barbados. Out of all these places my favorite definitely had to be Antigua. The beach was stunning and the water was perfect. Barbados was amazing as well but it was very busy at the beach we were at, unfortunately. This trip could not have been better. Jade had a blast swimming in the ocean and playing in the sand. My favorite thing in the world is floating in the ocean which I was lucky enough to do in five beautiful places. There are so many amazing things we did I could write on and on about it. I am having major vacation withdrawals ever since I came back home.

For anyone interested we went on the Royal Caribbean Cruise Freedom of the Seas. It is such an incredible ship with so much to do and see!
