I am obsessed with thrifting it is one of my favorite hobbies. There are so many hidden treasures that you can find, as they say, one mans trash is another one’s treasure. One thing I always look out for while thrifting is vintage high waisted Levis, wooden toys and cute things for my house. I also collect copies of my all-time favorite book The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
Thrifting is not only a ton of fun but it is an awesome way to save money. I always get so many compliments on Jade’s wardrobe and almost 85% of it is thrifted. Kids grow so fast I cant bother spending hundreds of dollars on clothes when I can get them for a quarter of the price. I also just recently moved out and wow is it ever expensive. You don’t realize how many things you actually use/need until you are on your own. I saved so much thrifting things for my house, not only were they cheap but also super cute!
Tips for Thrifting
- Be patient: This is the best advice I can give. It might take a few tries until you find something good or you might have to really dig. I usually go through heaps of clothes to find the best ones for Jade.
- Go as frequently as you can: New things come in multiple times a day the more you go the more chances you have at scoring the best.
- Know your prices: Knowing your prices on things is a great help, I have found expensive things for a couple dollars and flip them for more.
I have been asked a few times what are some of my favorite items I have thrifted but there are so many it is hard to pick just one. I love all of Jade’s overalls she looks adorable in them, especially the vintage Osh Kosh ones. I also really like all of the wooden toys I have found for Jade. Every toy on her toy shelf has been thrifted. All this stuff is awesome but my all-time favorite find would have to be my Rattan table and chair in my room. I adore boho aesthetic which makes it goes perfectly in my room.
